Children’s Time Leaders Needed!
We have an exciting Sunday curriculum for our K-6th graders this Summer, now all we need are leaders to help teach it! On Sundays after the children’s sermon (during service), the leader will take the K-6th graders to the education/conference room for their lesson. It is fun and EASY! The lessons and activities are already done for you.
Please consider sharing your time and talents with our youth by volunteering to lead for a Sunday (or more). A sign-up sheet is on the Narthex kiosk. You can also email/call Katie in the office to sign-up at (608) 238-3121 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fellowship & Fun!
Come together with other adults and parents for some fellowship and fun Friday June 30 at 7:30 pm at the home of Jeff and Sara Hayes (5 Barron Ct. Madison). Light snacks will be provided. Bring your own cocktails/drinks! We have been asked to get young adults and parents together to discuss things they would like to see happening in our church, so please come and join in on the conversation. We will do a short discussion in the beginning and then just relax and visit. Please contact Sara Hayes with any questions at (608-260-5131).
Those mid-high age and older are welcome to participate in Handbell Week! The music learned will be incorporated into the worship service on June 25. The schedule is as follows: meet in sanctuary to organize (June 18 after worship); rehearsal (June 22, 7-8 pm); and final rehearsal (June 25, 8:45 a.m.). Contact Joe Chrisman, Minister of Music, for more information.
Summer Book Discussion
We will be meeting to discuss our first book for the Summer Backyard Book Discussion, “When Books Went to War: The Stories That Helped Us Win World War II,” by Molly Guptill Manning. This book contrasts the book burning of Nazi Germany with the US strategy of using books to challenge Nazi propaganda during World War II. It explores the impact of books on helping to win the war and in shaping American society after the war. The discussion of this book will be held at Donna Norton’s home (1301 Whenona Dr.) on Tues. June 20th, from 7:00-8:30 PM. We hope you will join us!
