We strive to follow Jesus Christ by being… Diligent in ministering to the needs of the world | |||||||||
The Madison Area Jail Ministry (MAJM), through the work of its chaplains and a network of clergy and volunteers from the entire spectrum of faith traditions, has been providing spiritual care to incarcerated men and women for more than 50 years. MAJM currently serves about 800 men and 100 women that are held each day in the Dane County Jail. We, a MAJM member congregation, are sponsoring a concert fundraiser at Westminster on September 29, 2018 for our Nakoma neighbors and all supporters of MAJM. Watching Ava DuVernay's documentary "13th" (NETFLIX), which explores the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States, demonstrates the devastating societal impact of incarceration and the need to support the work of MAJM. |
