We strive to follow Jesus Christ by being… Faithful in our covenant with God and each other |

Congregants and friends of many years and generations celebrated Westminster’s Centennial Year in 2016.
The Best is Yet to Come!

Young and old participated in an intergenerational Sunday School activity by answering the question
“How do we see The Handprints of God in our lives?”…

Today’s coffee hour was cut short as we gathered on a cold and snowy January Project Linus Sunday to assemble blankets providing warmth and comfort to ill and traumatized children …

We collected many softcover books for the Madison Area Jail Ministry, and Chaplin Todd Marcotte spoke at an intergenerational Sunday School activity…

…and the congregation gathered around the font to celebrate the baptism of two infants, joining the families in promising to guide and nurture them by word and deed, with love and prayer, and encouraging them to know and follow Jesus Christ

Westminster’s annual MSCR pontoon excursion around Lake Mendota pauses for a leg-stretching walk at Governor Nelson State Park…

…and the next year we invited families from the Allied Community to join us, including a stop for ice cream at the Memorial Union

Westminster and Christ Presbyterian held a joint Vacation Bible School with the participation of their youth and adults and coordinated by the Christian Ministries staff

…and after serving as liturgists at worship, a confirmand class gathered with their sponsors and teachers…

…and we provided a unusually bountiful offering of treats to celebrate their becoming members of the congregation

Our Las Posadas worship reminds us that Joseph and Mary are strangers (refugees), shunned as they search for lodging in Bethlehem. Jesus called on his followers to welcome strangers and provide them shelter…

…and no celebration of Latin culture for children at Christmastime would be complete without a piñata full of treats…

…and topping off the morning was a fun time decorating Christmas cookies, and we got to eat the "broken" ones!
