Rev.​​ Scott Anderson, Pastor

Scott began his ministry as Pastor of Westminster Church in March, 2017 after serving for 13 years as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Council of Churches.  He is passionate about being a Presbyterian, loves to lead worship and work in partnership with the congregation in serving the Nakoma neighborhood and the city of Madison.  Scott is passionate about equipping the followers of Jesus for ministry in all aspects of their lives and in building relationships among people who are different.  He received his ministerial training (M.Div.) at Princeton Theological Seminary and also has a graduate degree in Public Policy and Administration. Joe Chrisman, Minister of Music

Joe served as Westminster's Organist and Director of Music from 1997 through 2006. In recognition of his leadership in worship, Westminster's Session appointed Joe as "Minister of Music" in 2006. Joe prepares and conducts the Westminster Chancel Choir in weekly worship services, special concerts, and collaborative worship experiences with other congregations. An active performer in the local music community, Joe has served on the board of the Madison Association of Church Musicians and has frequently led community hymn sings at Overture Hall in downtown Madison. Amy Poland, Christian Ministries​​ Coordinator

Amy is a​​ member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she has served as a Sunday School teacher, member of the Children’s Ministries Committee, and Moderator of the Deacons. Before moving to Madison from Chicago in 2005, Amy was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was involved in children’s ministries and education. Amy holds a Masters in Elementary Education from Northwestern University, and taught fourth grade at a public school in Skokie, Illinois. Amy​​ will be in the office weekly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and on Sundays twice a month. Email Amy at​​ amy@westminstermadison.org.

Dorothy Blotz, Accompanist 

Dorothy is an accomplished musician and vocalist. Retiring​​ after teaching kindergarten and first grade in the Racine and Madison Public Schools, she joined Westminster Presbyterian Church in the early 1980’s, serving as a Deacon and in the Chancel Choir. Dorothy accompanies Joe in organ and piano or flute duets, with organ or piano when Joe leads the Chancel Choir or congregation in song, and provides Hymn and instrumental music for worship services when Joe is away. Dorothy sang with the Madison Philharmonic choir and played flute with various musical organizations including the Racine Johnson Wax Band, Madison Municipal Band, Madison VFW Band, and a Woodwind Quintet.

Rev. Dr. Jessica Nyland Salt, Bible Study Leader

Jessica is Pastor of Caledonia Presbyterian Church, Portage, WI and is the John Knox Presbytery’s​​ Madison Area Regional Coordinator. She has served as pastor of several PC(USA) churches in Michigan and Wisconsin during the past 17 years. Jessica is also the Founder/Owner of Spiritual Pathways, LLC, a spiritual consulting practice based in Madison, which helps individuals and small groups listen for and clarify the work of the Divine in their lives. She received her M.Div. at Princeton Theological Seminary and her D.Min at Columbia Theological Seminary. Email Jessica at​​ jnsalt@gmail.com.

Katie Bencze, Church Administrator

Katie and her husband moved to Madison in 2011 and have loved every moment of raising their two girls here (Faye and Grace). Previously, Katie was the Executive Director at the Muscular​​ Dystrophy Association (MDA) in Las Vegas, but for the past three years she has enjoyed teaching online at Indiana University (her alma mater). In her free time she likes volunteering at her daughters’ schools. Katie grew up in the Presbyterian Church and is happy to be supporting Westminster Presbyterian. Our nursery, a few steps from the narthex, is available Sundays September through May from 9:30 AM to noon​​ for children four and under. Pre-school children are also welcome after worship and during the Sunday School hour. Summer hours are 9:30 to 11 AM. Our 2019 paid nursery staff, Jenny, Molly, Meghan, and Lauren are caring and experienced.
